Someone said to me when I took her to the site..”it has beautiful bones!”. I took it as a euphemism for “this place looks like shit!”. As I have gotten to know it better, I see what she was getting at.  Every day we are there, we seem to discover a new hidden treasure– from a beautiful barn door to enormous hidden scalloped rafter tails. It is so exciting.

This is a sideview of the exterior

The outside of the building is painted fire engine red. There are two pump islands already existing that we will use for our Biodiesel pumps. By the way, this place: built in 1933 by a woman architect (!)

The exterior is pretty banged up in places and the garage rolling doors no longer work.

Below are some “Before” pictures of the interior. It has two rooms: one small trapazoidal shaped room that we will transform into our lobby “welcome” area, and one large room (the garage) that will become our store, selling: urban farming supplies, auto parts for Biodiesel, and sustainable living stuffs.

Garage Room (above) to be a store

Smaller room..to be a lobby with a counter and information kiosk.

Below: details I fell in love with from the beginning were the maroon swinging doors that connected the small room and the garage, some seriously old signage, and….a water fountain!
